The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China stated that some anti-China politicians acting out of their own interests insist on supporting Paraguay and Belize to maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

The Foreign Ministry also clarified that relevant sanction measures include visa refusals, and a ban on domestic institutions in China from conducting business transactions with the two involved ministers.
